TEDxTokyoLive brings TED’s main US conference to the Tokyo public for the first time.

TEDxLive is an extension of the TEDx program, launched by TED in 2010. TEDxLive events are TEDx events built around the live webcast of TED Conferences. TEDxLive events enable TED enthusiasts all over the world to experience live sessions of the TED Conference. Some are simple viewing events, and some host live speakers.

Held on February 28th at Shibuya Hikarie’s 8/ COURT, TEDxTokyoLIve is a public-viewing event, giving you the opportunity to experience TED2013 in near-real time, in the company of like-minded people.

The speaker lineup for TED2013 features the largest number and greatest variety of speakers in TED’s history — more than 70, who will be sharing their ‘idea worth spreading’ from the main stage.

Here in Tokyo, we’ll be screening the four sessions from day 2 of the five-day conference. The TEDxTokyoLive event will be held in two parts, each containing two TED2013 sessions, and open to 100 invited participants for each part.

This year’s conference is entitled ‘The Young. The Wise. The Undiscovered’ and as part of this TED will feature a large number of speakers discovered through a series of international auditions. It was at the Tokyo event last year that the TED team discovered World Champion yo-yo artist, BLACK and he’ll be on stage in the 4th session, Disrupt!.

Please note that all sessions will be in English, and there will not be simultaneous interpretation or subtitles.
