アートへの新しい入り口が開かれる！5日限りのサーカス
誰もが参加できるインクルーシブな社会の実現を目指し、日本財団は障害者に関わる事業に多角的に取り組んでいます。そのひとつである「日本財団 DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS（ニッポンザイダンダイバーシティ・イン・ジ・アーツ）」は、アートを通して多様性の意義と価値を広く伝え、越境を導くため、多くの人々が参加者となり、新たな担い手や企てが生まれるよう、東京オリンピック、パラリンピックが開催される2020年に続く未来に向けて展開するプロジェクトです。
『日本財団 DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS 2020 ミュージアム・オブ・トゥギャザー サーカス』は、日本財団と渋谷区が共催で行う『SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA（ソーシャル・イノベーション・ウィーク・シブヤ）』の開催とあわせ、2020年度に向けた展覧会の幕開けとして実施するものです。
7名の作家によるアート作品が顔はめパネルへと姿を変えたり、動物のような什器に展示されたり、サーカスのように不思議で賑やかな空間で、新たなアートとの出合いをお楽しみください。また、関連プログラムでは、幅広い分野からゲストを招き、アートがもつ可能性や多様な社会のあり方について考えを巡らせます。きっと新たなヒントが見つかる機会になることでしょう。世代やコミュニティ、専門性や領域をこえて、あらゆる人が参加する５日間になれば幸いです。
The Nippon Foundation undertakes diverse projects in support of people with disabilities in the hope of realizing an inclusive society where everyone can participate. One of the projects is The Nippon Foundation DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS, which aims to transcend boundaries and convey the significance and value of diversity through art. Thinking ahead to what happens after the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, the project will develop in ways that encourage many to participate and help foster new leaders as well as initiatives.
Marking the start of a series of exhibitions that look toward 2020, “The Nippon Foundation DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS 2020: Museum of Together Circus” takes place alongside “SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEK SHIBUYA”, which is jointly organized by The Nippon Foundation and Shibuya City.
Featuring works by seven artists that transform into panels inviting visitors to insert their faces or exhibits on animal-like furniture, encounter new art in a circus-inspired mysterious and festive exhibition space. Related events also offer opportunities to discover new ideas about the potential of art and social inclusion together with guest speakers from a wide range of fields. We hope anyone regardless of generation, community, profession, or field of interest can participate in the events over these five days.
