海や川の「生きる化石」に魅せられた、日本画家・髙橋文子。上野の森美術館大賞展入選作ほか、生き物たちの、美しくも愛らしい姿をお楽しみください。
オオサンショウウオ、ラブカ、シーラカンス。日本画家・髙橋文子は、古代の姿を今もとどめる水棲生物たちに魅せられ、彼らを中心に描いてきました。
その根底にあるのは、畏敬の念。数千万年前、数億年前からほとんど姿を変えず、「進化しないという進化」を選んだ彼らへの憧憬と慈しみです。
私たちホモサピエンスが地球上に現れるよりも遥か昔から命をつないできた動物たちの、美しくも愛らしい姿を髙橋氏はユーモラスに表現します。
本個展では、昨年11月に京都・新風館で開催された個展で「瞳がかわいい」と好評を博した『3000万年の歩み』（第39回上野の森美術館大賞展入選作）をはじめ、大作『慈母RABUKA』など髙橋氏の代表的な作品の数々を展示します。
川や海、大地の生き物たちの息吹をぜひ感じてください。
髙橋 文子
日本画家。サロンブラン美術協会常任委員。2021年、第39回上野の森美術館大賞展に賞候補にて入選。
幼少のころを過ごした海辺の町で水辺の生き物と出会ったことが原体験となる。
のちにダイビングのライセンスを取得。国内外の海に足を運び、見たり触れたりした生き物を描くことがライフワークになった。
雲肌麻紙（くもはだまし）に墨を塗って銀箔を全面に重ねることで籾紙を作り、偶発的な模様を作り出すという独自の技法から、美しいマチェールの上に岩絵の具や金箔で描かれる生き物たちは、豊かな生命の輝きに満ちている。

2015年、2016年、2017年 フランス「サロン・ドートンヌ展」に3年連続で入選

A Japanese painter. Member of the Standing Committee of the Salon Blanc Art Association.
Selected as a candidate for The 39th Ueno Royal Museum Grand Prize Exhibition in 2021.
She spent her chi ldhood in a seaside town where she saw many water creatures, which was her first encounter with them. Later, she obtained a diving license.
She has made it her life’s work to visit oceans in Japan and abroad and depict the creatures she sees and touches.
With her unique technique of making hulled paper by applying sumi ink to the Kumohada mashi (hemp paper) and silver foil over the entire surface to create accidental patterns, the creatures she paints with mineral pigments and gold leaf on the beautiful matiere are filled with the rich radiance of life.
